Marcus is a registered psychologist in private practice in South Yarra, and is approved to provide generalist psychological services under Medicare. His professional training is in Clinical Psychology and he is is a professional member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Marcus has undertaken specialised training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Drug and Alcohol counselling, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Pain Management counselling. Marcus has a warm professional approach to therapy that is both respectful and challenging. He incorporates a variety of evidence-based treatments to address a range of psychological disorders, as well as everyday difficulties coping. Aside from individual therapy, Marcus is also able to provide psychological testing and reports for both personal and medico-legal purposes.
Prior to moving into private practice, Marcus gained experience in a diverse range of public and private sector workplaces. Marcus has worked in adult psychiatry, drug and alcohol treatment, occupational rehabilitation, in prisons assessing and treating offenders, and various private counselling settings. Marcus has facilitated a variety of group therapy programs including depression and anxiety management, social phobia, insomnia, substance dependence and rehabilitation programs for offenders. Marcus has also worked as a tutor in a post-graduate counselling course at Swinburne University.
